A friend in deed…

Proverbs 18:24 KJV
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

In this season of intercession, there are many loud whispers I have made to The LORD concerning friends. Based on that, they have been sharing testimonies of answered prayers. For this LORD knows I am truly thankful. Whenever they share with me, that’s when in return they get to know it’s been on my heart…

Reflecting on this, it begs the question, how often do we make room for others in our prayer lives. Without them telling us their problems. Just by observing gaps, lifting what we notice unto The LORD.

Are you a friend in deed? Are they actual actions you can point to where you lay your life down for a friend… ? Is this not true love? When a friend knows they are covered by you. When a friend holds unto an answered prayer and your heart dances because alas, your faith has borne fruit.

James 5:16 KJV Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Be a solid wall! Be the one who stands with your own. Be the one they know that they can turn to in time of crisis. HE that is in you is greater than he that is in this world.

A gentle reminder below… may it be imprinted in your heart:

Esther 4:14 KJV and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Between a good thing and a GOD thing

  1. the ability to judge well

But how do you tell what move to make and which decision to take? Discernment, comes from The LORD.

1 Samuel 16:7 KJV But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

In all things we ought to be led by HIM. HE shows us what we ought to do, several times (or maybe at a later time HE may give us insight by HIS Mercy) it doesn’t make logical sense to us. We look and feel foolish. Several people cannot comprehend the decision we have made and why. But the peace HE gives and the urgings in our spirit confirm it is HIM.

The lies of the devil are very loud but The Truth from The LORD is a still small voice.

We need to quieten our spirits and train ourselves to hearken unto HIM. We study HIS Word and dwell in the place of prayer. We place ourselves in HIS Presence where we know HE will speak to us and give us clarity on what to do..

May we be led by The Holy Spirit who is our teacher and guide

For a season

Suffering has an expiry date, know this and know peace.

There is a purpose to your pain- physical, emotional or psychological. But The LORD will bring good from it, because in HIM, there is no waste.

The LORD sees from a vantage point that we only have limited access to.

1 Corinthians 13:9 KJV
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

But in getting to know HIM and as we deepen our relationship with HIM, HE gives us deeper understanding and even more knowledge.

Prov 4:18
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

Can you survive the pain? Yes, because The LORD is on your side.

May HE strengthen you for such a time like this.

Forward ever

The only way to go deeper with The LORD is to go forward. Forgetting the past and pressing on towards the glorious future of eternity.

Forgetting guilt, embarrassment, wrong words spoken, pain inflicted, poor discernment, regret and disappointment. Forward ever.

The lessons from wrong done by you and to you are already learnt. They’ve been ingrained in you already. That’s why when you reach out to do wrong again, there’s a gnawing sensation and quiet but extremely loud internal alarm bell.

Do not crucify yourself again. CHRIST has already done that for you. By HIS Stripes you are truly healed… embrace HIS Bruising for your transgressions and press on!

Regret steals joy! Peace elevates you to where you ought to be. In a deeper walk with The ONE who calls you by HIS Name…

Fear not, move forward:

Ezekiel 47:1-4 KJV Afterward he brought me again unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house stood toward the east, and the waters came down from under from the right side of the house, at the south side of the altar. [2] Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side. [3] And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. [4] Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins.

What is the benefit of prayer?

You may not see your answered prayer yet but on the inside you are changing. As frustrating and ineffective as this may sound, this is the true essence of prayer: for us to be transformed and connected to GOD in a way only our spirits can- deep calling unto deep.

James 5:16 KJV The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

When we look at this scripture, it speaks to the level of change that is accomplished in the place of prayer…

You become more sensitive to The Holy Spirit. You may notice that characteristic behaviour is slowed a little; you tend to pause before you react unlike you did prior. There is a collision between your natural self and your strengthened spirit man.

Your life changes and your perspective shifts. Your focus is on The LORD and you can connect the dots of places in your mind where you are uncertain with greater ease, this is the benefit of prayer. You begin to walk in peace that passes understanding and have an increased strength on the inside in the midst of the uncertainty that surrounds you…

And as you dwell in HIS Presence, should you have been praying amiss, HE will gently guide you back to where you ought to be.

ABBA, thank YOU for the blessing of intimacy with YOU. What a privilege it is to pray! May our souls prosper even as we dwell in YOUR Presence and may we be that generation that seeks YOUR Face.  Amen. In JESUS Name.

No shared Glory

Last month, I had 7 drafts waiting to be completed and posted. They were created mostly at the end of February.  I mentally beat my chest that the month was going to be smooth sailing as I had the blog sorted already…

As of today, they are still there, as drafts and about to be deleted. Why? I. Beat. My. Chest… The LORD inspires every post put down here. And for each post that goes up. I bless The LORD, pray that it blesses someone and then move on. Not that time though… how that switch happened mentally, I have no clue. But The Holy Spirit had me learn this and opened my eyes to see the error in my ways almost 2 months after.

Isaiah 42:8 KJV I am the Lord : that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

It is very simple. The LORD does not share HIS Glory. Sometimes, we need to check our lives to see where ourselves or someone else is taking HIS Praise… Thankfully, The Holy Spirit who is our Teacher will help out too.

Does this mean we shouldn’t be proactive? Not at all. Does this mean we should be diligent and properly prepared? No to that too. It simply means that what HE gives is HIS blessing to be grateful for never our gift to keep.

May The LORD constantly give us discernment as we walk in alignment with HIM.

Life lessons and leverage

This evening (that is the day before this post is being published), The Holy Spirit whispered to me that Joseph probably fled from Potiphar’s wife because he saw how deeply affected his father was by Reuben sleeping with his own wife…

This caught me completely unawares and stopped me in my tracks. It made me think about all the blessings that come from learning from the mistakes of others. Someone said to me once and I will never forget: experience is the best teacher but it doesn’t have to be yours.

I can imagine all the times Israel confided in Joseph. The depth of wisdom he had access to just because of how close they were. The lessons he taught him from being Laban’s servant that he most likely put into practise in Potiphar’s house, the prison and in the palace.

When we get the privilege to see others weaknesses, we have an opportunity to glean from their wisdom. Hindsight is 2020 vision. There is a blessing in brokenness.

Matthew 7:1 KJV
Judge not, that ye be not judged.

For the first time, I have learnt just how powerful this verse is. Moreso, if you judge, how do you learn? How do you grow? How do you become and absorb all The LORD will have you know?

This is different from guarding your heart with all diligence and keeping a healthy distance from those who you believe are able to influence you and turn you away from The LORD. That’s captured in this scripture:

1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
Abstain from all appearance of evil.

May we learn to leverage from the experiences of others that we may align with GOD’s Will and abide in HIS Mercy and Grace… like Joseph.
